Horses are continual grazing animals and as such their stomachs are constantly producing gastric ‘juices’ to help with their digestion. Any prolonged periods without feed can ultimately lead to your horse being at risk of stomach problems as there is nothing going into his stomach to neutralise these ‘juices’. Wherever possible, a pasture diet is ideal – small, regular amounts of grass, hay and beet pulp during the day means the horse chews well and digests more slowly. This is natures way of avoiding ulcers by neutralize the gut. Turning out is another good way to help your horse, where he can graze as nature intended.

Foals especially need to be monitored as they are far more susceptible to stomach problems due to their young age, Uls-Gard Solution has been approved for use on foals too.
