Read More Competition season is now upon us and it’s time to choose the perfect outfit for your next horse event.
On our list of must-attend events is the Badminton Horse Trials. Taking place in May at the Badminton House and Estate in Gloucestershire, the Horse Trials first began in 1949.
Entrants travel from all over the globe to compete in the prestigious three-day event, which is one of only six competitions in the world to have a five-star CCI rating (Concours Complet International).
Competitors are required to showcase their strengths and abilities across three equestrian disciplines. These include, dressage (to test accuracy, discipline and obedience), cross country (to test stamina and athleticism) and show jumping (to test agility and accuracy at speed).
Alongside the competitions, visitors can also enjoy dressage displays, a dog agility arena, the Shetland Pony Grand National, as well as a fun fair and shopping village.
There is no set dress code for Badminton, but we would suggest wearing something that is comfortable and weather appropriate. Make sure you keep an eye on the weather forecast, so that you can be as prepared as possible for the unpredictable British weather.
